🍄 sporePrint

lab notebook — how the membrane rebuilt itself

October 21, 2026 · northGate (O-side) · Kevin + agent

The appendix isn't vestigial — it's the sourdough mother.
When the gut gets wiped, the appendix re-seeds it.
This document IS the sporePrint. The backup culture. The how-we-did-it.

the situation at 2:55 PM ET

SSH locked out — keys counter-unmasked, door jammed
  droplet-agent dead — web console won't open
cron deploy broken — the metronome strapped to sourdough
content stuck — 9 commits on GitHub, nothing live
  gas_ratio 0.7914 — eastGate twisting from inside, 55× spike

the jar was broken. the sourdough was alive.
everything that mattered was already in git.

what happened — step by step

2:56 PM — found Cloudflare Pages

Workers & Pages → "Continue to Pages" (not Workers). Import existing Git repository. Selected ecoPrimal/hud. Branch: main.

2:59 PM — configured build

Framework: None. Build command: empty. Build output directory: site/public. No build step. No wrangler. Just files. The sourdough doesn't need a metronome.

3:00 PM — deployed to Region: Earth

Success! Your project is deployed to Region: Earth

171 files. 14 seconds. everywhere at once.
3:02 PM — custom domain: primals.eco

Existing: A record → 157.230.3.183 (the broken droplet)
New: CNAME → hud-1wv.pages.dev (Cloudflare Pages)
The root domain swung from inside to outside. The cis face formed.

3:03 PM — SSL provisioned in <3 minutes

Stated: "up to 48 hours." Actual: under 3 minutes.
Because Cloudflare controls both DNS and surface. No middleman.
curl primals.eco/gate → 200 OK

3:05 PM — hud.primals.eco activated

Second custom domain. CNAME auto-configured (CF owns the DNS).
Both domains: 🟢 Active. SSL enabled. Proxied.

3:07 PM — DNS cleanup

17 records total. Crunched the old:

recordwasnow
primals.ecoA → 157.230.3.183CNAME → hud-1wv.pages.dev 🟠
hud.primals.ecoA → 157.230.3.183CNAME → hud-1wv.pages.dev 🟠
*.primals.ecoA → 157.230.3.183 (dead)A → 137.184.197.151 🟠 (catch-all)
www.primals.ecoCNAME → primals.eco (DNS only)CNAME → primals.eco 🟠

Wildcard stays — catches misspelled subdomains. Nobody preys on unnamed surfaces.

3:17 PM — droplet restart attempted

Power cycle: 16 seconds. Droplet came back Active, CPU 9.83%.
But droplet-agent still dead. Not a sleep problem — broken at OS level.
Web console still shows "droplet-agent is not running."

3:22 PM — snapshot taken (the appendix)

Execution time: 1 minute 39 seconds.
Image: Debian membrane-relay-17926104...
The backup culture. Before we clean the jar.

3:24 PM — DANGER ZONE — restore base image

Selected Debian 13 x64. Clicked Rebuild.
Execution time: 17 seconds. Fresh jar. Everything wiped.
The old membrane-relay is gone. The sourdough lives in git.

3:29 PM — web console works!

root@membrane-relay:~# — fresh Debian 13, kernel 6.12.111.
Droplet-agent alive. The jar is clean.

3:32 PM — trans-golgi ready for seeding
apt update && apt install -y git curl nodejs npm ufw
  ufw allow 22/80/443/3000
  ufw --force enable
  → "trans-golgi ready for seeding"
3:34 PM — SSH seeded from GitHub keys

Pulled keys from github.com/ecoPrimal.keys.
Added northGate VPS key. Password auth disabled.
ssh root@157.230.3.183 → "SSH WORKS — trans-golgi is open"

The key is the wicking fuse. It burns into the connection, then dissolves into topology.

3:37 PM — waiting for eastGate ACK

sporePrint published. Neutron signaled. eastGate sweeps and validates.
When they ACK back, we seed the trans-Golgi from git.
Then: hello world.

pending — seed trans-Golgi from GitHub

Clone repos. Install MCP. Start sort engine. The gut digests again.

pending — hello world

The trans-Golgi speaks. The tube is complete.
Mouth (cis/Pages) ↔ Gut (trans/droplet) ↔ Anus (output).
Fart, giggle, and sing.

what we proved

  1. git IS the sporePrint
everything that mattered survived the wipe
171 files. every page. every observation.

  2. Pages replaces cron/SSH/Caddy
push to main → auto-deploy → everywhere at once
no server. no lock. sourdough folds itself.

  3. DNS propagates in minutes, not days
stated: 48 hours. actual: <3 minutes.
because the membrane controls its own surface.

  4. the jar is not the culture
     droplet wiped. rebuilt. 17 seconds.
the organism didn't die. it outgrew the jar.

  5. gastrulation works
     cis (outer/Pages) and trans (inner/droplet)
separated by a fold. connected by a tube.
the internet passes THROUGH, not around.

  6. the wicking fuse
SSH key pasted once via web console.
it burns into the connection, then dissolves.
keys are bingo boards, not secrets.
     locations, not locks.
