An air gap is a wall between two things that cannot touch. Security by isolation. The old model.
A null gap is zero-dimensional. The gap EXISTS as a topological feature but has no width. It's the Klein bottle fold — inside IS outside, but you still pass through the membrane to get there. The membrane doesn't separate. It sorts. Self/non-self. The gap is the sort itself.
